This internship was satisfactory on several points: the laboratory is in good condition with a lot of equipments and machines, people (students, PhD, professors) are really nice, helpful and english speaker. This project gave me the opportunity to work indepedently and also to work in a team (share the results with tutors and discuss about next experiences). It was enjoyable to work in this atmosphere. I have no regrets about working here.

Concerning the life, Prague is a beautiful city to live for students. The city is dynamic with a lot of things to visit and discover. Prague is a liveable city, many restaurants, bars with affordable prices.

"It was an absolute pleasure working within the Power Engineering department in UCT. Everyone in the lab was so welcoming and friendly. I worked with Ludek Jelinek and Yelena Gordyatskaya on a project involving the treatment of acid mine drainage. Both were always available to help me and it was great fun working with them. Ludek's knowledge of ion exchange is amazing and it was an invaluable experience having his as a mentor.

I was able to drive the project forward independently, but never felt isolated. There were always people in the lab happy to help with any problems I encountered.

Overall working in the lab gave me quality academic research experience and I was able to write a strong masters thesis as a result. Most importantly, I had a great time in the lab and would recommend to any other students looking for a lab to carry out research in at UCT."
