ECC SMART – ohlédnutí za rokem 2023
Korozní tým Ústavu energetiky pod vedením doc. Macáka a doc. Sajdla je jedním z řešitelů mezinárodního projektu s názvem ECC-SMART (Joint European Canadian Chinese development of Small Modular Reactor Technology).
The corrosion team of the Department of Power Engineering under the leadership of doc. Macák and doc. Sajdl is on of the participants of the international project called ECC-SMART (Joint European Canadian Chinese development of Small Modular Reactor Technology). The project deals with the issue of small modular reactors cooled by supercritical water. The corrosion group of the DPE is using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to determine the properties of materials in supercritical water environments to evaluate the corrosion resistance of candidate alloys for nuclear fuel cladding. This year, over four thousand hours of electrochemical and exposure tests were conducted in the experimental loop. Results from this project have been presented at several conferences, workshops, also three students involved in the project presented their results at the Student Scientific Conference of the University of Chemistry and Technology.
Several meetings of the research groups participating in the project took place during the year. Meetings were held in Budapest, Bratislava and Ottawa, Canada. In addition, PhD students working on the project participated in a meeting in Celje, Slovenia, associated with a workshop on " Safety of Small Modular, Advanced Fusion Reactors " and a meeting in Madrid, Spain, associated with a workshop on "Structural Materials for Generation IV SMR Concepts", where results were also presented. Other outputs from the project were presented at the ECG-COMON (European Cooperation Group for Corrosion Monitoring of Nuclear Materials) platform meeting in Mulhouse, at the International Workshop on Impedance Spectroscopy (IWIS16) in Chemnitz, Germany, at the conference of the Association of Czech and Slovak Corrosion Engineers in Pilsen, at the Nuclear Corrosion Summer School NUCOSS23 in Gozd Martuljek, Slovenia, and also at the meeting "Afternoon with Electrochemistry", organized by the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of CAS in Prague.
