sympozium Shaping the Future of PFAS Research
Dne 10. července 2026 se Matěj Hušek, student doktorského studijního programu na našem ústavu, na pozvání organizátorů zúčastnil mezinárodního sympozia Shaping the Future of PFAS Research: Through the Eyes of the Next Generation, které se konalo na Doshisha University v Kjótu jako doprovodná akce konference WET2026. V odborné části programu vystoupil s přednáškou „Limitations in the PFASs Determination – PFAS Analysis in Sewage Sludge and Organic Fluorine Determination“, zaměřenou na limity analytického stanovení PFAS, jejich analýzu v čistírenských kalech a stanovení organického fluoru.
Oshitou z Department of Environmental Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering. Setkání přispělo k dalšímu rozvoji společných výzkumných aktivit a mezinárodní spolupráce v oblasti environmentální problematiky.
On 10 July 2026, **Matěj Hušek, a PhD student at our department**, was invited to participate in the international symposium *Shaping the Future of PFAS Research: Through the Eyes of the Next Generation*, held at Doshisha University in Kyoto as a special event associated with the WET2026 conference. The symposium focused on current challenges and future directions in per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) research and brought together early-career researchers from Japan and other countries. In the scientific session, Matěj Hušek gave a presentation entitled **“Limitations in PFAS Determination – PFAS Analysis in Sewage Sludge and Organic Fluorine Determination”**, addressing the limitations of current analytical approaches, PFAS analysis in sewage sludge, and the determination of organic fluorine.
Matěj Hušek was also invited as one of four speakers in the subsequent **YWP Career Seminar**, which focused on the experiences of young professionals who studied in Japan and continued their research and professional careers in Japan or abroad. His visit also built on our department’s **long-standing collaboration with Kyoto University**, particularly with Dr. Homma and Prof. Oshita from the *Department of Environmental Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering*. The event provided another valuable opportunity to strengthen the existing scientific collaboration, exchange research experience, and further develop joint activities in the field of environmental research.
